Adani group stocks were trading higher on Tuesday, with NDTV surging over 7 percent, after the US Department of Justice permanently dropped all criminal charges against Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar, NDTV reports, bringing a high-profile securities and wire fraud case in New York to a complete close after prosecutors concluded they could not sustain the allegations. Heatwave in Delhi as temperatures set to touch 44 deg C, IMD issues warning: Hindustan Times

Delhi residents are now experiencing “peak summer” conditions as temperatures continue to rise relentlessly across the national capital, Hindustan Times reports. With the mercury expected to remain above 40 degrees Celsius over the next three days, the India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heatwave conditions, warning people to take precautions against prolonged exposure to the scorching heat. Delhi is likely to record a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, as per the weekly weather update issued by the met department, the report says. Teen suspects fatally shoot three in suspected hate crime at San Diego mosque, BBC reports
Two teenage attackers fatally shot three men at a mosque in San Diego, California, in a suspected hate crime, before taking their own lives, BBC reports. The shooting took place on Monday morning, two hours after the mother of one of the suspects called police to say her son had run away with a friend and was possibly suicidal. The report says that police were already on the hunt for the two when the attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego began, and they found three victims with gunshot wounds outside the front of the building. Taiwan election candidate puts up anti-India billboard: India Today
A candidate in a local election in southern Taiwan is being slammed for putting up a poll campaign billboard featuring a "no" symbol superimposed over the Indian national flag and an image of a turbaned man, India Today reports. The billboard has been criticised for racial discrimination and has triggered a debate over immigration policy. The report says that Taiwan had in 2024 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with India to accept migrant workers. The 2024 MoU, however, came under criticism from some quarters in Taiwan. WHO to hold emergency committee meeting as Ebola death toll rises to 131, Al Jazeera

The toll from the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has risen to an estimated 131 deaths from 513 suspected cases, Health Minister Samuel Roger Kamba says. Al Jazeera reports that previous figures from the epidemic, which the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared an international health emergency, were 91 people dead out of 350 suspected cases. The WHO chief said on Tuesday that he was “deeply concerned about the scale and speed of the epidemic”, which has already started spreading into Uganda. Read the full report here.
