Rohit Pawar claims factual errors in AAIB’s preliminary report on Ajit Pawar plane crash

NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has continued his attack on VSR Ventures and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) over the plane crash that claimed the life of former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, Hindustan Times reports. On Wednesday, he alleged discrepancies in the preliminary report released by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), questioning its intent and credibility. At least 101 missing after submarine attack on Iranian ship off Sri Lanka, Indian Express

 

At least 101 people ⁠were missing ​and 78 ​wounded after ​a ⁠submarine attack on ‌an Iranian ship off Sri ⁠Lanka’s ⁠coast, Indian Express reports. Meanwhile, Iran does not intend to negotiate with the US and has no contacts with Washington in any form, Mohammad Mokhber, a senior aide to late supreme leader Ali Khamenei, said on Iranian state television. Saudi Aramco’s Ras Tanura, which houses its ⁠largest ​domestic refinery, was ​struck again ​Wednesday ⁠by an unknown ‌projectile, the report says as per its four sources. Divorce can't be granted citing cruelty based on WhatsApp chats, NDTV reports

Divorce cannot be granted on grounds of alleged cruelty merely based on WhatsApp chats without giving the spouse a chance to rebut, the Bombay High Court has said. NDTV reports that a bench of Justices Bharati Dangre and Manjusha Deshpande last week quashed an order passed by the Nashik district family court allowing an application filed by a man seeking divorce from his wife on grounds of cruelty. The woman moved the HC, challenging the family court order claiming that the same was passed ex-parte and without giving her an opportunity to oppose or put forth her arguments. Mojtaba Khamenei, son of slain Ayatollah, emerges as leading choice to be successor: The Straits Times

 

The senior clerics responsible for selecting Iran’s next supreme leader met on Tuesday to deliberate, The Straits Times reports, and the son of the slain former leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, emerged as the clear front-runner, according to three Iranian officials familiar with the deliberations. The officials said that the clerics were considering announcing that the son, Mojtaba Khamenei, would be his father’s successor as early as morning on March 4 but that some had expressed reservations, the report adds, fearing that it could expose him as a target for the United States and Israel.
