The Guardian's update on NY shooting incident
The Guardian talks about the Buffalo Shooting that took place in Tops Friendly markets supermarket in Buffalo, New York. Details about the hate crime mass shooting have started emerging as the city still mourns. The incident killed 10 citizens while three are wounded. The prime suspect is an 18-year-old shooter who is a self-confessed white supremacist, says the report. The report further mentions that the attack was plotted many miles away while it was most likely been developing for months. The report has shared an insight into the shooter's plan before carrying out the crime, it is believed that he had to travel about 200 miles from his home of Conklin. NDTV on the Gyanvapi Mosque Case: Area to be closed where the Shivling is found, says UP court
NDTV’s today’s report has covered the Gyanvapi Mosque Case, says the Uttar Pradesh court had mandated a three-day videography survey of the Masjid complex in Varanasi that ended a day before the next hearing of the case in court. The court has ordered to close off the mosque to the public. The report states that as of this morning, water was drained from the pond and a Shivling was found, claimed Subhash Nandan Chaturvedi, the lawyer who is known to represent a group of women who have sought year-long access to pray at the shrine. Further, the report also adds that the court has stated that the pond which was used for the Islamic purification ritual must be sealed as the petitioners requested the court. The Hindu on the price hike of ATF by 5.3 percent
The Hindu reports about the ATF (aviation turbulation fuel) price hike by 5.3 percent on Monday. The report has mentioned that this is the 10th straight increase in price this year, while this is the all-time high in line with a surge in global energy. The report has shared the price hike statistics which state that the fuel was hiked by Rs 6,188.25 per Kilo Litre (KL) (5.29 percent) to Rs 1,23,039.71 per KL (Rs 123 per litre). Delhi witnesses new records of heatwave at 49 degrees Celsius, Hindustan Times reports
This Hindustan Times report states that Delhi on Sunday experienced a new high record as the mercury passed 49 degrees Celsius. The neighbouring Gurugram registered the day’s high at 48 degrees Celsius, which as per the report is the highest since May 1966. The report mentions that one of the possible reasons for the rising temperature could be rain deficit. The report further also mentioned that many other parts of India such as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh also continue to experience the rise in temperatures. Somali President returns to power, CNN
CNN today writes about Somalia’s newly elected president Hassan Sheikh Mohmmad. He is the country’s 10th president. Mohmmad has previously served as the president from 2012 to 2017 and has now become the first president to get re-elected as the head of state, says the report. The report further adds that he has vowed to “work on a stable politics that leads Somalia and the world to an agreement.” He won the elections against the outgoing President Mohmmad Abdullahi Mohmad Farmaajo.
