The state of Maharashtra alone contributed more than 20,000 cases on Sunday. While speaking in Pune on Monday, regarding the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the ‘Maze Kutumb Mazi Jababdari’ campaign and the response to it will play an important role in gaining control over the rising cases.

“The campaign will help diagnose the disease in its early stages, which in turn will help decrease the fatality rate in the state. This campaign will help us reach each and every family. We hope to receive cooperation from the people, as we go door to door for checkups and data collection," Tope said while interacting with the media. He has appealed to the people to give their full support as well as follow self-discipline in order to curb the spread of the disease in the state.

Following Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh have contributed with around 8,000 new confirmed cases each.
